Starting Electronics + CAD Classes

We’re now a few weeks into the classes taught through the educational division, both for electronics and for CAD. Students have gotten experience with understanding 3-D shapes from an isometric perspective, and then, being able to replicate them in CAD. For now, they’ve learned to use simple operations like sketching, extrusions, cutting (extrusion, but negative), filleting, and the like. While replicating their assigned objects (see below) they gained experience with using dial calipers to take measurements.

Meanwhile, the electronics class has taught students to solder (safely), and introduced them to the basics of antweight electronics. This includes how electrical gates are represented, in addition to other components of electrical diagrams. This has all taken some time, so there’s little else to say about that. Nevertheless, good progress is being made.

We also announced a fundraising event for the robotics team, the THS Robotics All-Nighter. This will take place in November and it will allow us to collect money while giving students a fun opportunity. They’ll be able to game and chill with friends. Otherwise, that’s about it for now!
